I answered an ad for a singer in Rolling Stone in 1970 or 71 and ended up moving from Cedar Falls, Iowa to Niles to sing with Char. She was putting together a band to go on the road – had a contract with William Morris – but it never happened. Right before we were going on tour (bass player was named Andre – can’t remember last name), Char had a terrible mental breakdown and was hospitalized. I stuck around for a while but then went home only to return to Michigan in 1972 with my band “Sisters”. We moved to Kalamazoo, formed a corporation and bought Uncle Dirty’s Sound Machine Studios (Engineer was Bryce Roberson). Saw Char a few times after that, but I was on the road for a few years and we lost touch. Search for info about her from time to time because I really loved her and she was very influential in my life. In fact I have been haunted by a couple of her songs for the rest of my life. Can you tell me what happened to her music? Did someone archive/catalogue her songs that never got published/performed? God, I hope so. If you know anything about Char’s song “Good things happen in the Morning, Bad things happen at Night” I would be eternally grateful to have a recording, or the lyrics, or anything else you have related to that song.
